Welcome to Shrewsbury

United Reformed Church

All are Welcome

During these challenging times and with the country in another lockdown, there is no "in person" worship in the Church.
Regular services will be conducted on Zoom, Facebook (for those with internet access) or via phone-in as below.
Via our Resources page, we will post links and access online events such as our regular quizzes and coffee and chat mornings to keep us all connected during this period.

Please take care, keep safe, and keep in touch.

Please use the forms below to gain access to our regular services held currently on zoom.

The United Reformed Church and Shrewsbury's URC has expressed its sadness at the passing of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died on April 9 aged 99.

A constant support to Her Majesty the Queen since their marriage in 1947, the Prince was one of the nation's best-loved and controversial royal figures.

Psalm 107: 23-31

Some went down to the sea in ships,
  doing business on the mighty waters;
they saw the deeds of the Lord,
  his wondrous works in the deep.

For he commanded and raised the stormy wind,
  which lifted up the waves of the sea.
They mounted up to heaven, they went down to the depths;
  their courage melted away in their calamity;
they reeled and staggered like drunkards,
  and were at their wits’ end.

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
  and he brought them out from their distress;
he made the storm be still,
  and the waves of the sea were hushed.

Then they were glad because they had quiet,
  and he brought them to their desired haven.
Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
  for his wonderful works to humankind.

Access for All

Shrewsbury URC is committed to making sure that services and facilities are accessible to everyone, including those with limited mobility, visual impairment and hearing difficulties. (Our Christmas Eve service 2020 offered BSL on zoom for example) We have made all floor levels in the church the same, and a new doorway into the hall complex.  This has eased access for wheelchair users, and makes movement around the building safe for everyone.

There is an induction loop system for hearing aid users in the church and in the lecture hall. We have a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities. We also provide large print hymn book as well as projected word onto two large screens. Large print copies of songs that are not in our two hymn books are available for people who cannot use the screens.
