in St Nicholas Hall, adjacent to the church
Messy Vintage is an inclusive, accessible, and creative approach of church for older people, while also reaching out to those with memory loss, confusion, or dementia and their carer’s.
Through Messy Vintage, we aim to reach out and bring church to people who may find it difficult to attend the usual Sunday service by providing a gentle, sociable, and enjoyable way into worship for people in later life.
Messy Vintage takes place on the first Friday of each month 2.00-4.00pm.
(However, during the Coronavirus Pandemic this has been suspended).
At Messy Vintage: -
Fun and fellowship are enjoyed through various crafts and activities which are organised around a monthly theme.
Helpers are on hand to enable people to participate where necessary.
A chance to join in with singing old familiar hymns and songs with our community sing along.
An enjoyable part of the afternoon is the chance to chat and share stories over a cup of tea and light refreshments.
The afternoon is rounded off by a short time of worship bringing together the theme of the session with traditional hymns.
During the Coronavirus Pandemic, Messy Vintage has been unable to meet together in person. We have continued to support older people, and those who are lonely and feeling isolated by providing a monthly Messy Vintage pack of activities and reflections. Our aim at Messy Vintage, is to make people feel valued and to put a smile on their faces.
